My husband and I stayed here early Oct 2009 and loved the place, sweet, simple and serene is how I have described it to others. Very central for day trips.

All I can say is what a wonderful place! Sergio and Stefano were excellent hosts in every way. The villa is absolutely stunning and the views truly take the stress of everyday life away. Definitely make a point to eat in their restaurant and have their pizza. Both are to die for. My wife is a chef and she was extremely impressed. We will definitely be returning! Thanks again!

Great place..Great views. Well situated within easy distance to the train station that takes you to Florence. We travelled by car to Siena, Sam Gimignano, Greve and Pisa from here easily and took the trian to Florence.
The family are lovely and are available if required but largely leave you to yourselves. Magnificent property. Would recommend to anyone looking for a retreat with no too many other guests.Conseilleriez-vous ce logement à un ami? Oui

We were pleasently surprised by the warm athmosphere of the keyholder, the really marvellous surroundings of the villa, wonderful garden and very pretty swimmingpool. Of course we had two weeks of wonderfull weatherconditions. The touristic places to be are very well reachable by car. Public tranportations is very well.

We have just spent a fantastic holiday at Villa Franello!!! From the time we arrived driving up from Lucca we just could not believe how gorgeous the property was. (the photos do not do it justice you have to see this). The villa is to a high standard. It was large enough for each part of our family group to have their own space if needed to relax & chill out both inside and out, this for us was a real plus as the garden was just something else.
We spent many days relaxing around the pool & soaking up the sun as well as enjoying walking in the surrounding countryside.
We loved the nearby hill towns of Loppeglia & Fiano, and all what you need for daily could be found in San Martion de Freddana. Ivalda was the perfect host as it could not have been better, as we felt immediately very welcome like at home. She prepared a brilliant homemade dinner for us on the first night. Excellent!
We are planning our return visit to Villa Nobile already & will definitely be recommending Franello to others.
Thanks for everything Ivalda.

This is an apartment in an holiday estate and not an authentic tuscan villa. The park is nice but the staff is unfriendly. The other three apartments lack any outside space. This one has a nice roof-terrace but comes at a high price. Restaurants in the neighborhood are hard to find. We will not go again!

Our welcome to the villa was warm and friendly, even though we arrived very late at 11.45pm. We were brought to our villa where there was champagne and a basket of fruit waiting for us , which was a really lovely way to start our honeymoon.
The villa was cosy and the resort itself was beautiful. The resort was quiet with a charming rustic feel. We spent a few of our days relaxing by the pool by the wellness centre. As there was no children allowed at this pool it was always quiet, most days no one else was there. Sometimes there was not a sound which was so peaceful and the view form the pool was amazing.
The restaurant was quaint and again had that rustic country feel. They served a different Tuscan special each night. The dinners were expensive however it was worth it to stay on the gorunds and have a quiet evening with wine and good food.
The staff were more then friendly and ever so helpful.
There was not much at all to complain about and as the overall place was beautiful the complaints we had did not bother us muchat all during our stay. The villa itself was spacious, apart from the bathroom which we found quite small. There was no bath in our particular villa and the shower was very small. We also assumed that your villa would be cleaned maybe once a week and any EXTRA cleaning you had to pay for. However, it turned out the villa was never cleaned unless you paid for it. They left clean towels in the villa maybe twice a week, however, did not take the old towels away, so we had quite a build up of dirty towels and 2 dirty table cloths-there was no basket or anything to leave them in - as far as we were aware.
Also, when you lit the fire, the villa smelled of smoke for the rest of your stay. It did not bother us a great deal though as it sort of added to that country rustic feel. The Spa was beautiful, however,we would have spent more time there if you did not have to pay 20euro a go each. We thought this was a bit much, especially if you only wanted to soak in the jacuzzi for half an hour.We went twice in our 2 weeks due to the price. As part of the resort I feel this should be a free facility. Tennis and cycling was free though.
Overall, we would rate our stay at Monsignor della Casa about 7/10. The only things that brought this down were the things mentioned above, mainly the cleaning and the spa usage. As a finalist for the great hotels of the world in 2009, we would expect that it should be 9/10 at least - a better cleaning service would definitely bring it up to 8or 9.
I would most certainly return , but maybe only for 1 week at most and I would definitely recommend it for a relaxing break. Thank you to all at Monsignor Della Casa.

October, 2009. We were very satisfied with our stay at Borgo Cappelli 3 over our stay of 5 days. The owner was friendly and helpful. The 2 double bedrooms and bathroom were very nice. The kitchen was adequate although an oven, microwave and small sofa would have been nice. The location was perfect, right in the heart of the Tuscan villages yet still close enough to the highway. Shopping was a five minute drive away in Poggibonsai-a big PAM supermarket and a n inexpensive Penny Market supermarket as well. Five minutes north is the very sweet town of Barberoni-good but more expensive COOP store there and lots of charming places to eat. The villa does not supply basic supplies such as sugar, coffee, napking so you'll have to buy these. Considering that we were traveling on a budget, the price was perfect for us and as I've said, the location was wonderful. Thank you Barbera for a lovely stay.
