The property is clean but basic. Only 1 wine glass! The pool is OK but rusty round the edges and only 2 working umbrellas. The beds are really uncomfortable.
Its rustic accommodation in a beautiful setting. Meals are good but the self catering was a bit basic eg no toaster after , no wine glasses ( we are in Tuscany, after all)
First off, I believe that honest reviews are the best. People spend a lot of money sight-unseen and it is critical to help set proper expectations.
Overall, we were most pleased with the accommodations. There were seven of us (5 adults and 2 teens) and we were more than comfortable. We felt more than welcomed by our wonderful hostess, Lucia.
The view could not have been more scenic and the pool (note, unheated for those traveling in the offseason) and patio area were quite nice.
Of course, it is difficult for any rental location to live up to the expectations set by the website photos and this one was no exception. The place was just a little bit more "lived in" than the photos would indicate, but that's just good marketing! Just set your expectations accordingly. We had some minor issues which I'm certain the owner would have tackled had we asked (a few ants in the kitchen and an A/C unit in one of the bedrooms wouldn't work). But, certainly we experienced nothing that should cause a person hesitation in booking this villa.
As advertised, the village of Poggibonsi is quaint and has a lot to offer. However, be aware that nothing is within walking distance. You need a car. That said, the location is perfectly nestled between Siena, Florence, and San Gimingnano---an easy drive to all places.
All told, I felt that I more than received a value for my money. To put 7 in a place like that for a week was a winner, in my mind and I would recommend it to anyone who asks!
The villa and staff made this Tuscan vacation. The location, service and food all amazing. Miley's, Tuscan mama, pizza, pasta making, daily breakfasts and Tuscan BBQ perfect. There was a couple little restaurants and winery nearby delicious and convenient. We had 14 people, adults and children. Hope to come back and visit this wonderful place. Grazie!
Just say it one word: awesome ! House is perfect for 4 - 6 persons. The garden with the pool is amazing. The landscape and the panorama view from the garden was my personal highlight. Would come back again at any time. House owners are very nice and kind. 5 / 5 stars in my eyes.
