This stay far exceeded any expectations we had. Sabrina, the villa owner, went out of her way to help us on every level! The villa was beautiful and so clean, even better than the pictures promised. We held our wedding ceremony and reception on the villa grounds and it truly made our day so special. Could not have asked for any better! Their wine and olive oil was some of the best we've had anywhere in the world and we really appreciated the tasting provided. We will be returning for sure!!! Thank you Sabrina (and Paolo!!)
Le plus bel endroit où nous avons séjourné. Personnel accueuillant et serviable. L'endroit est calme et dépaysant. La maison est vraiment typique. Situé en pleine campagne et près de plusieurs villages médiévaux qui valent la peine d'être visités, Volterra, Gambassi et San Giminiano et de très beaux vignobles. Nous le recommandons fortement.
We had a really great time in this Vila. It was truly a wonderful experience.
Communication with Easy reserve was very good and everyone was very helpful. However, the owner didn't answer my emails until a few days before we arrived.
Separates Ferienhaus im Grundstück und neben dem Haus des Vermieters, außerhalb von Foiano della Chiana (Auto erforderlich) in ruhiger Lage mit angrenzenden Oliven- und Weinplantagen; sehr freundliche Vermieter; Ausstattung wie in der Anzeige beschrieben (Sat-TV nur italienische Sender eingestellt) und auf den Bildern dargestellt; Bad mit Dusche, die etwas eng ist; wunderschöner Pool ist zum Schwimmen geeignet; am Ferienhaus befindet sich eine Sitzgelegenheit unter einem Pergola; Bett- und Badwäsche sind vorhanden und werden wöchentlich gewechselt.
Eher modernes Haus mit schöner Einrichtung. Bäder wirken neu, Küche ist ausreichend, was man braucht ist vorhanden. Man fühlt sich rundum wohl. Alles ist sehr gepflegt und sauber. Die Lage ist sehr idyllisch. Anreise über Kiesweg. Die Eigentümer sind sehr nett und absolut hilfsbereit mit tollen Tips.
[English translation courtesy of Easy Reserve] Rather modern house with nice furnishings. Bathrooms are new, kitchen is sufficient, what you need is available. You feel completely comfortable. Everything is very well maintained and clean. The location is very idyllic. Arrival via gravel path. The owners are very nice and absolutely helpful with great tips.
This great old villa was a good choice for our group of 12 cyclists. Lots of room, plenty of bedrooms, and a great place for the bikes and cars. The dining room is easily the best space in the villa, 12 for dinner with plenty of room left over. All the china, silverware and glasses matched so the table set for dinner was a great sight. The wine (maybe from the owner's vineyard) was an nice addition, just have a bottle from the sideboard and they add it to the settlement at the end. The views are spectacular and those that used the pool said it was a wonderful place. The caretaker offered her cooking services so we did that one night and it was a great meal at a great price. One negative is the beds. We stayed in the "master bedroom" and the bed was old and collapsing, quite a disappointment for a week's stay. I thought ours might be the only worn out bed but others had the same situation. The other tacky parts of the villa could easily be accepted as "quaint" and old but worn out beds aren't much fun after a day of cycling. I think the internet service is spotty in rural Italy overall but in the villa the only access point was in the kitchen and it only worked in the kitchen. On the bright side, it did create a good group gathering place! The wine bistro around the corner was really nice after a day's ride, the staff was great and the wine very good. If they take care of the bed issue we'd all come back for another trip.
Pro: A pretty old castle in a picturesque landscape
Contra: The appartment lies outside of the castle, it has now own outside-sitting-area or any balcony, there is no A/C in the appartment, one of the bedrooms has no window, the appartment is very dark inside, all installations in the bathrooms and the kitchen (e.g. taps and showers) are very run-down and partially out of order, the kitchen equipment comprises only a minimum (e.g. only 4 cups and 4 glasses - therefore, you constantly have to clean the dishes), there is no dishwasher, there are no basics in the kitchen and you have to buy evreything new (e.g. salt, pepper, sugar, washing-up liquid)
Conclusion: Not much value for a lot of money. Never again!
