Castel San Gimignano is a small, ancient village, located just a few kilometers from San Gimignano.

Formerly a fort, the town is built on a hill overlooking the lovely Siena countryside is the perfect place to spend quiet moments of relaxation. Centrally located, it is a short distance from all the attractions of Tuscany such as Siena, Monteriggioni, Colle di Val d'Elsa, Volterra, Pisa, Florence and the picturesque hills of Chianti , famous for their vineyards and olive groves.
Located within the oldest part of this beautiful village, there is Giovanna Vacanze, a villa adjacent to a small square.

Giovanna Vacanze is a 100% family operated (the owners live in the main house and are always available for any request or assistance), is open year round and is the ideal destination for an enjoyable and relaxing stay in the magical atmosphere of the surrounding sights.
At guests' disposal:
Swimming Pool 4,50 x 11,50 meter, depth 1,50 meter. Open from 15 April to 15 October.
Outdoor areas with table, chairs and BBQ.

Excellent location to visit Siena, San Giminiano, Volterra and Florence plus local vineyards. Apartment is adequate, but before booking it was impossible to figure out which apartment has direct access to pool and private outdoor space. I have asked Easy reserve customer service, but they didn’t have that info and we ended up in Casa Edera that lacks both. That was little dissapointing. We still though had a short walk access to pool and beautiful gardens with panoramic views towards San Giminiano. Very friendly owners, but unfortunately I don’t speak much Italian, so communication was limited.
Castel San Giminiano is a lovely, quiet village, has a grocery store and nice restaurant, bit on a pricey side though. Giovanna offered cooking, but we did not try it.
I would recommend this place to my friends.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans la campagne Toscane, à deux pas de San Giminiano. Vous avons été chaleureusement accueilli par Paolo, dans un cadre magnifique. Le logement était tout à fait conforme et tout à fait adapté pour un couple.lit mansardé en mezzanine tout plein de charme.

The accommodation was completely in conformity with the description and quite suitable for a couple. Little attic mezzanine full of charm.

Tutto bene, la casa è davvero carina, pulita, comoda, in una zona strategica e Giovanna è una signora gentile e molto disponibile. Unica nota negativa il wi-fi che non funzionava.

we really enjoyed our stay at Giovanna vacanze …. it was a very pleasant surprise. the gardens are lovely and the view outstanding …. the family were VERY hospitable and the host gave us a bottle of red on arrival AND departure! we had the apartment that accommodated our family of four however we had no balcony which is probably the only thing i would have liked so we could enjoy the view more from our apartment! the cost for five days was reasonable and it was also lovely to be in a quieter town but only a stones throw from san gimignano!

Beautiful surrounding and view of nearby San Gimignano. Owner was very friendly and welcoming. Our apartment was cozy and entire property well maintained. Large garden with several bbqs and seating areas available for the guests. Swimming pool as well to cool off in summer time. We loved our stay (couple with toddler)

Sehr schöne Anlage, toller penibel gepflegter Garten, super Ausblick. Perfekter Ort für Städtebesuche in der Toskana. Vermieter sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Tochter vor Ort spricht deutsch. Haben sehr schöne Tage in der Casa Simona verbracht.

Abbiamo trascorso 3 giorni molto belli: eravamo io, mio marito, la nostra magnifica Golden e la nostra piccolina nella pancia.
La casa è molto bella ed è situata in una zona con panorama magnifico; ideale per una famiglia come la nostra.
Posizione strategica per poter visitare i famosi luoghi che si trovano nelle vicinanze.
Grazie alla signora Giovanna e a suo marito per la disponibilità e la grande ospitalità!

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Edera in Castel San Gimignano. First of all, it was easy to find and the parking was easy and secure. We were warmly welcomed and shown around the grounds, which were very beautiful and well-maintained. The neighbours were also very helpful and patient with us when we tried to speak Italian. The apartment itself was large, and although somewhat dark, it was lovely and cool to return to after a warm day of sight-seeing. One minute from the door is a beautiful swimming pool and garden and also a lovely upper garden where we would sit to admire the view looking toward San Gimignano. It was a good location as Siena, Volterra, San Gimignano, Col di Val'Elsa and other towns were not far away and the driving was easy. It was also convenient to have a well-stocked grocery store one minute from our door. Our host is chef at a nearby restaurant where we had a wonderful and reasonably priced dinner. All in all it was a great holiday and hopefully we will have the opportunity to return.
