Rented both units (La Mura #1 & #2) for two weeks and was very satisfied with the accommodations and the hospitality of the owners. Very convenient to the village of San Gimignano (walking or driving) and yet very quiet and peaceful. Roberta speaks good English to help with your questions and Mama & Papa are quite dedicated to you enjoying yourself , even if though they do't speak English. Both units were clean and comfortable. Would recommend to any one who doesn't need a 5 Star hotel and enjoys the people as part of enjoying the culture.
Villa Il Nido is a lovely villa that you and your family will enjoy. It is a very modern, clean 3-bed/3-bath unit that can easily accommodate 6-8 people comfortably. There is a fully contained kitchen to cook a few meals on those days when relaxing between trips to our towns/regions. The villa is in the Alpinnes Mountain and is within walking distance to the town of Castel Garafagnana. There is a lovely swimming fountain, green grass to walk/lay and enjoy, and the hosts are very warm and friendlyly. Pablo and his wife are very sweet and add to the appeal of Villa Il Nido. They have a very nice garden and may bring over fresh vegtables for one of those "home" cook meal days.
My family and I truly enjoyed the villa.
The place was beautiful and the views were spectacular.......the owner's family sent us a homemade raspberry torte on our arrival and TIARA MI SU to end our visit....both of which were DELICIOUS!!! Owner answered all of our questions and concerns promptly. One minor problem, which hopefully will be easily resolved, is that we were to meet the owner at 6:00 a.m. on the day of our departure to receive our security deposit back. We waited until 6:15 and then had to leave for the airport without taking care of this. Can you provide me with an E-Mail address for him so I can contact him. Would definitely recommend the place for a relaxing and memorable trip!
Would not recommend. Property is poorly equipped and in poor repair. Even the views are obscured by overgrowth of trimmable trees. NOT good value for money.

Everything was perfect during our stay at Bigattiera Villa.
Our 10-y.o. daughter was happy with big and clean swimming-pool.
As we are fond of travelling - we were very happy with it's central location: approx. the same distance between Firenze, Lucca, Sienna, Pisa and numerous see-resorts.

The Villa Fabbroni exceeded all of our expectations. Stefano and Sergio are fabulous hosts and chefs--the food we enjoyed in the wonderfully warm and inviting restaurant there was the best we had in all of Italy--and everything about the place (the hosts, the accommodations, the setting, the view, fellow guests, and more) was exceptional. We stayed in the Padronale unit, which is enormous and wonderfully outfitted with impressive antiques and every modern amenity one could ask for. I can't say enough about the hospitality of Stefano and Sergio, who are so welcoming and accommodating, particularly to families with young children (ours are 6 and 3). We met several other families there, all of whom felt the same way we did about our hosts. What a wonderful vacation. I hope to return to the villa sometime soon! --Angela S., Baltimore, MD
We just couldn't fault this little Tuscan gem! The property was well equipped and the view from the garden over San Gimignano was just amazing! Well located for visits to places such as Volterra, Florence, Monteriggione and Siena. We didn't want to leave! Patricia W. - Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.
Casa Simona was a delight. Although the road to the property is more of a rough track at the end of it sits Casa Simona with the most glorious views over the Tuscan countryside. The villa itself is lovely, very clean and with modern fittings. It would possibly not be suitable for very small children as the stairs to the first floor are stone tiled. Simona and her husband are lovely and were very concerned that we enjoyed out stay. All the essentials were there for us, coffee, tea, milk, water, bread and even some chocolates, biscuits and beer. Very thoughtful and very welcoming especially as we didn't arrive until about 5.30pm. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it at all. The only downside we felt was that another bathroom would be useful if there were 2 couples and as the temperature was 30C we would have loved a fan in the bedroom. If we were in the area again we would go back to Casa Simona.
This was a beautiful, peaceful location to relax with family. We arrived late at night in the dark, and ran around the next morning opening windows to reveal the amazing views! The pool was great for the kids. The villa was clean and spacious. We were able to take several day trips to Florence, Pisa, Luca, San Gimignano and Colle di Val d'Elsa. We loved the location. The little town of Greve was convenient for post office and COOP food market.
Excellent place for vacation in many ways! We had very nice one week vacation at Casa Dei Ciliegi with four families with many children. The villa exceeded our expectations in many ways.
The house itself is excellent for larger groups. Ground floor inludes spacious living room, dining area and kitchen. Upper floor has many bedrooms and almost all have own showers and toilets, which is perfect especially for families with children. All facilities were clean and in good shape. Kitchen could have been better equipped, with more glasses and sharper and better knives. But otherwise kitchen was serving the purpose well.
Outside area follows the same standards. Spacious yard with two different table areas, other one being under a roof. One surprise was the location of the pool. It was very near the house, but in different level (behind a slope) and you had to walk stairs to get there. That setting would be challenging for disabled persons, but we had no issues with that.
Surroundings of the house are something you would expect from a perfect Tuscan villa. Being in the middle of vineyard with nice views, it was even better than what you would expect from pictures.
We definitely recommend this to all large groups, also those who are travelling with children - but not for disabled persons who would like to go swimming a lot :)
