Fantastisch traditioneel Italiaans huis. Grote woning met ruime kamers en heel veel kast- en opbergruimte. Hier en daar wat opknapwerk nodig, maar in feite wordt dit door de authentieke elementen (bvb antieke wereldbol, oude schilderijen, marmeren schaaltjes in de badkamer, prachtige donker houten trap...) gecompenseerd. Je hebt niet het gevoel van een "verblijf in een vakantiehuisje", maar wel van "wonen in een huis in een Italiaans dorpje in de Toscaanse heuvels".
Hou er rekening mee dat het huis zich op de top van een heuvel bevindt en je dus telkens een aantal km haarspeldbochten moet overwinnen.
Kleine minpuntjes:
- slechts één 3 -persoonszetel in de living, als je met meer bent kan je er dus niet met z'n allen zitten
- zeer harde matras in de bovenste slaapkamer
- de tuin met tuinmeubels en zwembad bevindt zich achter het huis van de eigenaars. Hierdoor is het net iets minder evident om bvb buiten te gaan ontbijten of 's avonds als de kids in bed liggen nog buiten te gaan zitten.
Dat went echter snel. De woning is niet modern maar toch helemaal top en het zwembad is geweldig, heel groot en met een fenomenaal uitzicht!

Some renovation work needed here and there, but in fact this is compensated by the authentic elements (e.g. antique globe, old paintings, marble bowls in the bathroom, beautiful dark wooden staircase...). You don't have the feeling of "staying in a holiday home", but of "living in a house in an Italian village in the Tuscan hills".
Please note that the house is located on top of a hill and you therefore have to overcome a few km of hairpin bends each time.
Small drawbacks:
- only one 3-person sofa in the living room, if there are more of you you can't all sit there
- very hard mattress in the top bedroom
- the garden with garden furniture and swimming pool is located behind the owners' house. This makes it a little less obvious to have breakfast outside or to sit outside in the evening when the kids are in bed.
However, you get used to it quickly. The house is not modern but still completely top and the pool is great, very large and with a phenomenal view!
Wie immer war unser Familienurlaub in diesem urigen Ferienhaus in der Toskana mit der fantastischen Aussicht u. den sehr netten, hundefreundlichen Vermietern , in der Nähe von Lucca u. dem Meer superklasse. Die Heimreise fiel, wie jedes Jahr sehr schwer. Wir freuen uns schon auf ein Wiedersehen.
[English translation courtesy of Easy Reserve] As always, our family holiday in this rustic holiday home in Tuscany with the fantastic view and the very friendly, dog-friendly landlords, near Lucca and the sea, was fantastic. The journey home was, as every year, very difficult. We are already looking forward to seeing you again.
Wij hebben met ons gezin met twee tienerdochters genoten van ons verblijf in Villa Uva.
Alles was perfect! Het mooie huis, de bedden, de badkamer, de keuken... En een zalig groot overloopzwembad tot in de puntjes verzorgd. Dit was niet verwarmt, denken we, maar stoorde helemaal niet. Badhanddoeken en strandlakens lagen er ook klaar. Het huis komen ze twee keer per week poetsen, wat eigenlijk niet nodig als als je een hele week buiten leeft.
Het enige wat wij misten in huis was een extra voorraadkast en een stofzuiger. Als je toch al eens iets laat vallen kan je het niet opkuisen. Voor de rest was ALLES TOP!!! Niet twijfelen, gewoon boeken.

Everything was perfect! The beautiful house, the beds, the bathroom, the kitchen... And a wonderfully large infinity pool that was taken care of down to the last detail. This was not heated, we think, but that did not bother us at all. Bath towels and beach towels were also available. They come to clean the house twice a week, which is not really necessary if you live outside all week.
The only thing we missed in the house was an extra pantry and a vacuum cleaner. If you drop something, you can't clean it up. For the rest, EVERYTHING was GREAT!!! Don't hesitate, just book.
Beautiful house in beautiful surroundings. Peaceful but within walking distance to a wonderful bar/restaurant in San Geranno. A plunge pool or hot tub would make this Villa 5 star
Das Quartier entspricht den Fotos, sehr geräumig. Ausstattung mit Haushaltswaren super, Geschirr & Zubehör für 6 Personen im Überfluss vorhanden, sogar Geschirrspülertabs waren vorrätig. Gute Klimaanlage, kühlt in wenigen Minuten. Der Pool ist traumhaft.
Dia nahe Autobahn ist hörbar, aber nicht störend, die Zikaden waren Abends lauter :-) Supermarkt 5 Minuten mit dem PKW entfernt, Ristorante La Tavernetta 2 min. zu Fuß mit tollen, hausgemachten Pastagerichten (keine Pizza!). Lucca und Pisa jeweils nach kurzer Fahrt erreichbar, zum nächsten Strand 15 Minuten. Die Lage ist optimal.
Einzig die Zufahrt zum Haus ist sehr eng (einspurig ohne Wendemöglichkeit). Man muss hinauf oder hinuter rückwärts bewältigen, was nicht ganz einfach ist.
Sehr freundliche Gastgeber, und das Haus war so wie beschrieben. Das Haus war sauber und die Außenanlage und der Pool sehr gepflegt. Wir kommen bestimmt nochmal wieder.

The property is high in the mountain above Cortona. There is plenty of space for a large group. We had 8 adults and 5 small children. The pool is nice but not cleaned everyday. There is no air conditioning and no screens on the windows. Too many bugs! Make sure you arrive with essentials: toilet paper, napkins, disposable plates, water, etc. none of that is provided. The parking is very awkward.
