We have just returned from a week in the Calanchi Apartments (Begonia apartment 4) - there were three of us but 5 could easily stayed here and 7 at a push, utilising the sofa bed.

These apartments are perfectly situated in Sughera, a tiny village in the middle of nowhere, ideal to experience the true beauty of the Tuscan countryside and get away from it all, but an hour from all the "main" tourist attractions, Pisa (airport), Florence, Siena and San Gimignano, and just over an hour for Lucca, Livorno, Chianti and Montalcino.
You WILL need a car - the nearest supermarkets are a 15 minute drive away and you really wouldn't want to walk there. The same applies for restaurants, so we ate out during the day and cooked in the apartment at night - there is a shared barbecue area near the pool too. The facilities are rustic, basic but sufficient and all you need for a lovely relaxing holiday. The manager Luca is very helpful, engaging and speaks impeccable English.

We passed literally hundreds of MAMILs (middle aged men in lycra) on cycling holidays so if you are into that sort of thing this is perfect - personally I was there for the early Tuscan Spring sunshine, wine, food and sights, and we got that in abundance.
We had a great, relaxing time and would certainly revisit or recommend staying here

The house and its surroundings are great. The owner even prepared the wood for BBQ when w asked for. Very suitable for children.

Excellent. The property was stunning. Each room has been carefully designed to reflect its Tuscan surroundings. Myself and my family were blown away by this place. Our contact Francesca was incredibly helpful and was always there for any questions we had. I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough.
The property is incredibly beautiful with lots and lots of space to relax and rewind. Eleven of us stayed here and you could easily have fitted another eleven! It’s very clean and tidy. The kitchen has everything you need. On one of the nights we had chefs come to the house and cook us a Tuscan meal. Without a shadow of a doubt this was everybodies highlight of the trip. The food was incredible and it also fed us the next day too! The two ladies came to the house around 4.30 and dinner was at 6.30. They prepared the food in the kitchen and cooked away. They cleaned up afterwards and left the place immaculate. It’s a real treat and definitely worth doing.
We will all come back here again and I think that’s the best compliment I can give it!
