If you're into views you can't do better than L'uccelliera, on a promontory with sea views in both directions and a green expanse of terraced hills behind. The enormous garden means you can wander off on your own and read or paint or whatever you want to do without running into other tourists - of whom there are hordes in Monterosso. Yet it's only 10 minutes walk down - or 15 up - if you need anything. The house is full of character and interesting objects. It was perfect.

This was a really top rate property. Clean, modern, great facilities and near to town. Caretaker was very diligent and garden/ pool/ spa were all kept in top condition. No messy fiddling with handoiver on arrival. Met the owner on departure who was very interested in our experience. Fantastic.

This beautiful villa looked just how it was featured in the photographs. The view of the Chianti hill was endlessly changing - misty mornings at sunrise made it worthwhile getting up a bit early. We did quite a bit of exploring and can honestly say this really is one of the most picturesque views in the whole area... you can see San Gimignano while lounging by the pool!

Great wine-tasting in the area!

However you need a car. And if you are going with two couples we would recommend two different cars. Although it is a short drive, it is a long walk to get your espresso in San Gimignano!

By the way, Dante gave a wonderful lesson on making espresso at the villa and would likely be pleased to show you.

The only complaint would be upon our arrival there was a bit of a mouldy smell, which eventually lessened during the week but made for a trip to the Farmacia for some allergy pills.

If we return to Tuscany we will try to book this same spot again. Dante and Roseanne are wonderful hosts.

Me and my wife absolutely loved this place. It was very clean, quiet, homely and elegant. The owner Laura was extremely nice and made our stay very comfortable. Highly recommended, especially for couples looking for a laidback place to stay and enjoy Italy.

Villa Corte Delle Stelle is a perfect place to fill the spirit of Tuscany. It is very well equipped, very clean and functional, with great view, perfect bedroom on upper floor and good surroundings like village of Foiano where you can buy Italian prosciutto, vegetables, wine. Near Cortona which is nice and misterious, which has some good restaurants. Villa is worth that money. We have spent a week with our friends there and we recommend this place for sure. Owners are very nice and kind, we could count on them. The property is kept clean and tidy by a very nice lady who lives in the house near to villa. Thank you all for the great week we spent there.
