Détails de l'évaluation:
We recently stayed for a week with our three kids. The property is as pictured and the location could hardly be better. We were able to day trip to Florence, Siena, Pisa, Voltera, and many other great hill towns. We were thrilled to stroll through San Gimignano in the evenings and I was also able to rent a road bike at the fabulous bike store in Pogibonsi and got in 5 rides during the week we stayed there. The family that owns the property is very gracious and Barbara definitely wanted us to have a great stay.
I write the following review from a US perspective and from the viewpoint of a family that typically stays in 4 and 5 star hotels. The “villa” is on the second floor and the family lives below. They have a good-sized farm and are active taking care of it and producing their wine and farm goods. They have three dogs and many chickens. This is important to know because if you choose this location, you should be comfortably with dogs regularly barking and roosters waking at daybreak.
You should also consider that the family currently thinks about the property as “self serve.” For example, the beds were not made and there was no soap, napkins, paper towels, etc. when we arrived. Barbara said that they were instructed that this is the proper the way to rent the property for renters. I suggested that for Americans this was not common, and Barbara was thrilled to engage in a discussion about what might improve the property.
With some simple improvements and the addition of AC (the villa does not have AC and the heat was oppressive in the Villa – we stayed in August and knew that it did not have AC when we booked it) I would highly recommend this villa. Until then, you should consider the advantages and beauty of the location with the lack of amenities.
