We could not recommend this property more highly. The owners are wonderfully gracious and helpful. We have rented several properties in Tuscany and this was the best by far. The grounds are immaculate and the bedrooms are spacious and well appointed. The pictures do not do it justice. It is close to everything, yet far enough from the highway and Autostrada that you feel isolated. Be certain to schedule a dinner with the private chef. She was wonderful!! The wine from the estate is also fantastic. Rent this villa and it will exceed your expectations. It certainly exceeded ours!

"La Poggetta is a fabulous place to stay!!"

What can I say? This was a fabulous villa for our group! It is within 1 hour to all that we wanted to see in Tuscany - Sienna, Cortona, San Gimignano, Florence and Montalcino. It is well furnished including dressers and armoires in the bedrooms for your clothes. The kitchen is of ample size and the indoor and outdoor dining spaces were great! The huge vegetable/fruit and herb garden was the best. Growing in the garden were tomatoes, cukes, zucchini, peppers, eggplant, figs, apples, cantaloupes, basil, sage, rosemary etc and we were free to use whatever we wanted. It felt so Italian to go pick our bounty for the evening meal.The other treat is Lorenzo! He is a friend of the owners and speaks English as the owners do not. He met us at the villa to show us around and we pre-arranged for him to come in and cook dinner for us for my 50th birthday and it was so delicious and he brought the wine pairings for each course as well. He is a very congenial, friendly and fun person and very helpful in so many ways. He had his aunt Lorena there to help with the meal and what a gem she is! She prepared the Tiramisu for my birthday cake and it was the best Tiramisu I have ever had. Lorenzo also has a local shop to get meats, cheeses, wines and other specialty food items. It is a great shop with reasonable prices. Lorenzo will also do custom tours and/or wine tours and cooking classes if you so desire. He was just the best. We also enjoyed the owners even though they did not speak English. You could just feel the warmth they exuberated. We truly enjoyed our time time in Tuscany and I would highly recommend La Poggetta! The only suggestion I would make is that the villa should have more wine glasses although there are plenty of glasses so you are never without a vessel to pour wine into and more ice trays in the freezer.

Wir waren vom 13.10 bis 20.10 mit 9 Personen im Haus Alice. Uns hat es dort sehr gut gefallen. Das Haus ist 2010 liebevoll renoviert. In der Küche gibt es ein offenen Kamin den wir auch zum Grillen nutzen konnten. Das Wetter war sehr gut und den großzügigen Pool konnten wir noch nutzen.Ankunftszeit hatten wir 16:30-17:30 Uhr ausgemacht und dachten das der Vermieter an Ort und stelle ist. Dies war nicht der Fall. Wir mussten ein paar telefonate führen. Das verwirrende an der Sache: Auf der Buchung standen fünf verschiedene Nummern. Nach einer halben Stund hatten wir es geschaft. Alice brachte uns den Schlüssel. Das war das einzigste was nicht so gut lief. alles ander hat super gepasst und die Toskana ist sehr schöne, super Landschaft, schöne Städte und gutes Essen. Viel Spaß im Hause Alice. Wir würden wieder hinfahren.

[English translation courtesy of Easy Reserve] We stayed at the house Alice from 13th to 20th October with 9 people . We have really enjoyed this place. The house has been lovingly restored in 2010. In the kitchen there is a fireplace that we could also use for barbecuing. The weather was very good and we could even use the large pool still. We had agreed a check-in between 16:30 and 17:30 and thought that the owner were on the spot. This was not the case. We had to make a few phone calls. The confusing thing about it was that on the rental voucher were five different numbers. After half an hour we managed to enter the property. Alice gave us the key. That was the only thing which went not well. Everything else was perfect: Tuscany is very nice, great scenery, beautiful towns and great food. Have fun in the house Alice. We would go back again.
