This was taken in Perugia, in Umbria, Italy, after a leisurely lunch with friends. The black and white composition evokes the timelessness of small Italian towns.

This Italian Terrier was sitting motionless at a picnic table at a rural Medieval Fair. He never moved a muscle as he watched the man eat his sausage, hoping a crumb would fall. I hope he got his just reward!

This photo was taken in Kotor, Montenegro, a town that features impressive fortifications tracing back to the 6th century. The bastions and ramparts scale all the way up the precipitous St. John Mountain behind the town and offer a tremendous view of the town and the bay.

This man was working quietly in the back of a busy meat shop in the town of Greve's central square. The shop was full of hams and select Italian meats hanging from the ceiling and basement full of cheeses staying cool in stone. The smells in the shop were so rich and delightful! Yum!
